SIYU DRIVE / GUIDE
Forgotten passwords and encrypted files
Passwords & recovery
Keep the account password you set when signing up safe. If you forget it, your files cannot be recovered.
Can I recover my files if I forget my password?
No. Password recovery is not available. Keep your password safe and retain original copies of important files.
Changing a password while signed in and recovering a forgotten password are different tasks. Do not assume that being able to reset an email password will unlock your encrypted files.
The keys stay with you.
Your password protects the decryption keys. Siyu stores ciphertext and cannot read the contents without your password.
PRIVATE BETA
Keep your originals. Forgotten passwords mean unrecoverable files. High availability and offsite backup are not currently promised.
